Istavroz
(Sign of the Cross) is one of the most prominent ritualistic gestures in the
Christian tradition. It signifies the connection of the individual psyche to
the Trinitarian formula. The sign itself, along with its ritualistic use is an
inseparable part of the Anatolian history, especially belonging to the
cosmopolitan culture of Istanbul. This very ring is designed and molded as an
homage to that very cosmopolitan culture. It is our way of appreciating
differences in belief systems which in essence have paramount value in
Anatolian socio-political mosaic.
