Inthe Eastern culture, Khatun is the title used for women of nobility. In theGöktürks, the title is given to the wife of the ruler. In the history ofarchitecture in the Sultanate of Rum, tombs of khatuns are quite common,commemorating the importance of the indisputable status of women in thesociety. This ring embodies the collective stories of khatuns of the past, ofthe present and of the future.
